Abstract
Giant inguinal hernia is a rare entity in developed world but are still occasionally encountered among rural dwellers in developing countries mostly as a result of ignorance, believe in alternate therapy and fear of surgery. Its management is very challenging and requires adequate preoperative preparation. We present two patients with giant inguinal herniae, one of which was left sided Amyand’s her-nia, who successfully had mesh hernioplasty in our center.
